As you can see we’ve got a brand spanking new layout and hopefully will continue to provide whatever readers we have out there with the usual amounts of disgust and occasional laughter. Laughter at me obviously, but laughter nonetheless. So where have we been? What have I been doing? Why are you such a lazy bastard? Let me explain…
You see since I had to give up my job at Battle Hospital in Reading, my heart’s not really been in writing stuff. Coupled with a data entry job I took in the interim and various ill-advised escapades (a 62 mile walk probably being simultaneously the most stupid and most satisfying) I felt burnt out. So I took a little sabbatical and have just this last month got myself motivated to start up with the writing shit. I also hated the old design. As something I knocked up in a few hours I was pleased but the more I looked at it, the more I got really annoyed with it. Therefore, no interest in writing coupled with a layout I wasn’t enamoured with meant no writing at all.
But Joey could have filled in, couldn’t he? Well yes, he could but he didn’t the lazy bastard. However, as he’s studying for a PhD plus working all the time I can understand and also this is my site and so I should take the responsibility for the content. Of course, if anyone does want to contribute you can always mail me here. I’ve also put up a forum so if anyone, friends or foes, be my guest. Only problem is everyone has to register.
So here’s the ground rules for the new site:
1) Updates every Friday at 7pm GMT/BST - the most important change I’m going to implement is updating regularly. It gives me the flexibility to work on articles through the week plus any submissions and have them all bunched together ready to go at one time, rather than updating when I feel. Any changes to this schedule will be put up (usually if I’m going out on a Friday night) somewhere on the site. Of course, I could put said updates up on Saturdays, but I'll decide as this is my website, BY GAWD!
2) Theme weeks - yes I’m going to run with theme weeks. Actually I’ve only got one week coming up, and that’s going to be real special.
That’s it for now, but I do have a few specials I’m going to whack up over the summer. So what possible delights could I have in store for you lucky, lucky people?
